Alex Couley
Alex Couley
Alex is recognised as an international figure in leadership development, leadership/business coaching and positive psychology. A leading expert in coaching, he is a Founding Fellow of the Institute of Coaching at Harvard University, an affiliate of the Institute’s Coaching leadership forum and also sits on the Harvard Business Reviews advisory panel on coaching.
Alex is in great demand for his coaching specialising in assisting leaders to utilise coaching skills to enhance their leadership abilities. He has trained hundreds of leaders in schools to practically implement coaching and embed a coaching and feedback culture.
Alex’s background is as a clinician in the mental health field for 40 years. He is a regular conference presenter and author on leadership development, coaching, mental health interventions, positive psychology and wellbeing.
Dennis Yarrington
Dennis Yarrington
Dennis is a leadership coach and education consultant. He is the Immediate Past President of the Australian Primary Principals Association where he was responsible for representing and advocating for principals from over 7000 Australian primary schools to governments, employers and education organisations.
He was previously the founding Principal of Harrison School, a large Preschool to Year 10 (1500 students) School in Canberra, Australia and has been involved in education for almost 40 years.
Dennis has worked in catholic and government schools in NSW, NT and ACT and has experience in developing and leading schools in the integration of technology, 21st century learning tools and structures and an inclusive school community.
Dennis is a life member and past co-president of the ACT Principals Association (ACTPA) and Vice-President of the Australian Government Primary Principals Association. He is currently the Board Chair for Principals Australia Institute and a School Aid Board Director.
Dennis is an experienced leadership coach who works with school executive teams and school leaders to build synergy in thinking and strategic planning.
Michael Hall
Michael Hall
Michael is an experienced School Principal and Leader with over 20 years’ in school leadership positions. Not only has he led teaching and learning within a school environment, he has extensive experience in managing school education, recreation and community facilities.
Michael is currently Deputy Chair of the Principal’s Australia Institute (PAI) Board. He has been Deputy President and a Director of the Australian Secondary Principal’s Association (ASPA); is a past President of the Australian Capital Territory Principal’s Association (ACTPA) and was awarded life membership of this organisation.
Michael is a strong advocate for Principal and Teacher Wellbeing and has prepared a report which became the foundation for the Principal Health and Wellbeing Strategy in the ACT. He has also been a leader in ASPA’s work in this area across Australia. He is an experienced leader internationally – working with Principals in several other nations to research and shape alternative pathways for students particularly across Asia.
Michael has implemented Big Picture Education, Cambridge International Education, established a Trades Training Centre and RTO to enrich the Vocational Education and Training experience for students in senior school – making him a trail blazer in these areas of education.
He believes that coaching and mentoring are important for educational leaders so that they can focus on what really matters in schools.
Rochelle Borton
Rochelle Borton
Rochelle is an experienced and internationally recognised school’s consultant, facilitator and coach with 15 years’ experience in the education sector. She currently works with schools, educators and executive teams leveraging feedback and self-reflection to develop practice for personal and professional growth.
Rochelle also specializes as a 1:1 coach for Principals, Deputy and Assistant Principals and Aspiring Leaders looking to take the next steps in leadership, make significant changes or need guidance to overcome challenging and unexpected circumstances.
Her background extends to the University sector, where she has been responsible for the management of leadership and executive programs, working alongside some of the most dynamic, talented aspiring and emerging leaders around the world.
